Sharing Tips and Advice

jntalk01Sally Rowson writes : The allotments event with John Negus at the new community centre in Boyce Road on January 22nd proved to be a great evening. Members of the committee greeted the numerous visitors at the door. Gill Case served tea, coffee and lots of biscuits.

If you have never been to one of John’s talks you must make sure you come to the next one. He is a lovely, friendly, approachable person. Sharing his tips and advice during his talk “Grow your own fruit and vegetables” was exactly what the audience needed at the start of our second season. The illustrated talk ended with a chance to ask questions but most of all he asked us lots of questions as a quiz to test our knowledge. In return winners where given a packet of seeds or a useful garden product. It was a very enjoyable night.

The committee will be putting on more events during the year. Please come along and meet your fellow allotmenteers and help support your Church Crookham Allotments Association. We want our community venture to be a success. Meet like minded people and make new friends. We will try our best to provide advice. Any money we are able to raise will be going back into our Allotments, i.e. to go towards transport costs for manure, wood chips etc. and to support further events. Hopefully, later, we can purchase equipment that we can share. If you have any suggestions on what we could do to help or an event you would like to see happen; let us know.

We look forward to seeing you in April at the bring and buy sale.
